Hygienik installed wall linings in 180 new assisted shower rooms in a new build PFI hospital project in South London.
The brand new wing of University Hospital Lewisham contains 419 beds, many of which are situated in four-bed bays. Each of these bays will have an assisted shower room and these have been part-lined with 2.5mm K-Panel fixed to a solid wall by the Hygienik team.
The project is being managed by Carillion. Andy Hope, the project's Construction Manager, stressed the importance of the wall linings meeting their high specifications.
”The principal reason for choosing this system was that it is easy to clean and very durable, so it can cope with impact during access and egress. It will keep maintenance costs down during Carillion's 30 year maintenance contract."
Mr Hope had previously specified Hygienik wall linings for a refurbishment project at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
